WP 3: Creation of a water flow model deduced from integrated geological, hydrogeological and geophysical data

This WP focused on the use of geophysical results for the optimum estimation of a water flow model parameters. The combined application of geophysical methods and analysis of soil and water samples can provide detailed information about aquifer hydraulic parameters and possible contamination of the groundwater (GW) with the highest possible resolution. The response of several geological formations (sand, gravels, clay, silt, etc.) and lithological sequences to groundwater flow in different geological condition were evaluated.

  • A small scale tank model to simulate the geological and hydrogeological conditions of the studied areas.
  • Water flow model of the studied areas.
  • Updated GIS database with the new hydrogeological information.
